IRL Name: Saku

Age: 28
Gender: Male
Location: Finland

English is our main language of communication, please rate your English fluency out of 10: 10

Please link your armoury page here: Bolog's Factfile

List any significant alts (name, class/spec, level):
Banron, warlock/affli, 70

Name your previous guilds and give a brief explanation of why you left those you spent a significant amount of time with: I joined Pro Finlandia before the summer and ventured is some BC raids during the holidays. After PF went in sleep mode few weeks back me and few other active members of PF founded a new guild Kauna where we intended to raid more end-game instances before WotLK.

What is your preferred PvE raiding talent spec and why have you chosen it?: The Fire/Icy Veins (2/48/11) is my main spec in raids but if required i've specced to a build which suits the current goals best.

List your primary and secondary professions, pls mention any notable epic or rare recipes:
Tailoring (375) - Battlecast hood epic
Enchanting (375) - Executioner, Steelweave, Cloak - Greater shadow res, Savagery, +40 spellpwr

Which Attunements and Heroic Keys do you have? MC attunemented, HC keys all except Auchindoun (been a bit lazy with that one). Priority for advancing the BC attunements has lowered since 2.4 removed the need. BT chain is under progress due to the Shadow ress neck.

Do you own a Medallion of Karabor? No, The raid parts of the chain are open.

What kind of raid experience do you have? (include any references to Pre and Post BC):
Pre BC: AQ20
BC: Kara clear, ZA clear (3 timed), Gruul & Maggy downed, SSC 4/6, TK 3/4, MH 3/5

How do you prepare for a raid? Enough mana/healing potions, spelldmg food (Blackened basilisk), Weapon oil, Flasks to last for entire raid (Pure death) and reagents to supply food, buffs and portals for entire raid.

What do you dislike most about World of Warcraft?:

What days are you available to raid (list all)?: Usually always.

Do you know about in Last Legion who could sponsor you? Few guildies from PF/Kauna recently joined your ranks, Neabel and Nakkerton.

Do you have any additional info you wish to share? (this is your opportunity to provide us with extra information to set you apart from other applications and cover an issue not mentioned above):

Before the new expansion I see that there still is an excellent chance to do some serious proggress in BC raid instances. What I can give to the Last Legion is a decently geared mage who knows his class and his talents so that he can do what mages do best.. food... ;) ups.. DPS!

I consider myself very obedient when under someone elses command, but I also can step up when needed. What I may lack in gear I compensate in teamwork and commitment.

Thanks for the application and your interest in LL.

Can you pls answer this question that was missed in your post?

"What do you dislike most about World of Warcraft?: "

Also, what are your thoughts when it comes to playing warlock as main?

We are quite well stocked on mages currently.

On a personal level I'm not a big fan of ppl who take the game too serious or behave poorly towards other gamers.

Playing with a warlock is fine by me, but the major problem is that it's an alt and the gear is not suited to endgame raids just yet.

Nice app... Good luck with it.

I had a look at the warlock alt, Banron. Bolog is very honest when raising the gear issue as serious. That char is going to need a huge amount of work before it's ready to raid in MH/BT. This is complicated by the fact that Banron does not have tailoring, which is a huge help for a poorly geared affliction warlock.

Now, I do like the fact that Banron actually went for affliction with his current gear. It is a sensible choice for his level of gear. Unlike mages, who have more flexibility, PvE warlocks have to adapt their spec to their level of gear. There are too many warlock with +600 spell damage out there who are gimping themselves by picking the endgame, but very gear-dependent 0/21/40 shadowmage spec. Those two gems with +spell crit are an unfortunate choice though: it's better to get +spell hit and +spell damage (but I'm nitpicking here: Banron is obviously merely a gathering char at the moment). For raiding, more points in suppression would be needed and another 500-600 shadow damage would be nice. With 5 points in suppression, you can get away with only 6% +spell hit, to start off with.

There is another issue though. We already have a very capable and regular affliction lock at the moment and we simply can't accommodate two affliction locks in one raid. With some gear changes our current affliction lock could be turned into a shadowmage (but, he's currently specifically geared up for affliction and made bids on loot accordingly). Therefore, incorporating Banron in raids as the new affliction lock is going to be difficult and involve a lot of work.

An alternative option would be for Banron to get a Dark Pact/Ruin build: i.e. 40/0/21. It'll give the benefit of decent dots (and suppression) and a way to put to good use all that +spell crit he'd be collecting as he gears up. You'd still need loads of extra +spell damage though before MH/BT become viable.

That raises a big question for Banron: are you willing to collect a few hundreds of badges, join 10-mans whenever possible, top-up your gear via PvP, enchant & gem everything? There wouldn't be a time limit on this, but raiding on the warlock will not be possible until at least a substantial portion of his gear is updated.
You want the soulstone? You can't handle the soulstone!

Banron (Bolog)

And thanks Sparklepuff for your post. As you noticed my lock has been my gathering character supplying my other toons with ore and leathers :)

There really is no limit (execept gear ofc ;)) on builds I use on Banron. Affliction works well in the job Banron does for me at the moment. Making mony questing/dailies and to supply my main and alts. I've made a list of items I wan't to aquire for Banron to get the needed +splhit and +spldmg to participate in 10man -> 25mans. As the halls of Kara and the ruins of ZA are very familiar to me, participating in 10mans should be no problem.

Gemming and enchanting the raid gear is a must on Bolog and so it is on Banron too, it just is a waste to enchant rares with top-enchants. Usually all epics are enchanted with a suitable one.

I'm not going to talk about classes or specs, partly because I haven't understood a word anybody has said for several posts (Something about spellpower...) but mostly because I haven't understood a word that's been said for several posts...

Anyway, you sound like a nice enough guy; so GL :)
There was only one catch and that was Catch-22, which specified that a concern for one's safety in the face of dangers that were real and immediate was the process of a rational mind. Orr was crazy and could be grounded. All he had to do was ask; and as soon as he did, he would no longer be crazy and would have to fly more missions. Orr would be crazy to fly more missions and sane if he didn't, but if he was sane he had to fly them. If he flew them he was crazy and didn't have to; but if he didn't want to he was sane and had to.

Yossarian was moved very deeply by the absolute simplicity of this clause of Catch-22 and let out a respectful whistle.
"That's some catch, that Catch-22," Yossarian observed.
"It's the best there is," Doc Daneeka agreed.

Thanks for your continued responses.

I want to emphasise a point raised about treating people with respect. All LL members are charged with the responsibility of representing their guild, themselves, their members and me in a mature and positive fashion as long as they wear the Last Legion guild tag. Anything less is unacceptable.

Some might say that's a "very serious take on game", but a guild is more than just a group that tackles end-game content.

It's far more than that. There are bonds in the guild and loyaity that cannot be bought. So when you say you dislike people that take the game too seriously, I partly agree and partly disagree.

If you can sign up to the above, you're welcome to trial and perhaps explore the option of playing the warlock as a main as we're top heavy with mages currently.

Your feedback is appreciated.

I thank for your response.

You are talking about things which are important in the game and also in RL. I can't say that I dislike all the people who take the game seriously because I like to think that there are many different levels in that matter, if it shows in a negative way towards people who enjoy playing but have duties outside the game - that I don't like.

As you say - you are well stocked with mages, I'll give some though if I could get myself to gear my lock "a bit" so I could join the ranks of LL as a Warlock.
