Gnigel
IRL Name:
Mike

Age:
20 - I am aware that you prefer 21+ but I hope you can make an exception in my case as I am 21 very soon.

Gender:
Male

Location:
Essex, UK

English is our main language of communication, please rate your English fluency out of 10:
9 – being English I can't say it's perfect!

Please link your armoury page here:
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Nordrassil&n=Gnigel

List any significant alts (name, class/spec, level):
Alolran - 70 fury warrior
Bunko - 64 BM hunter

Name your previous guilds and give a brief explanation of why you left those you spent a significant amount of time with:
Ice - It was with a heavy heart that I left Ice. They were my first "proper" tbc raiding guild (apart from a few dabbles in kara previously) and it really felt like my home. However they were not progressing at all and actually moved backward in the last month or so that I was in the guild. It no longer felt like my home and I decided it was time to move on.

Midnight Storm - After some time of joint raiding between MS and Ice, I joined Midnight Storm to seek out greater things along with a few friends of mine that I've been playing with from day one. I had a great few months, cleared SSC and 3/4TK making a lot of friends along the way, however things have stagnated due to a lack of progress and problems with attitudes. Some personalities clashed which led to key members leaving. This left progress at a standstill, banging our heads against the brick wall that is Kael'thas with 20 people instead of 25. It just generally feels unpleasant in the guild and it is time for me to find a new home. There are no hard feelings towards the core of Midnight Storm and I wish them all the best for the future, but as I said, I need a change.

What is your preferred PvE raiding talent spec and why have you chosen it?:
I am currently raiding as 40/0/21 arcane/frost. Prior to this I was raiding as fire with icy veins. I've chosen this build because it takes advantage of my gear and the tier five set bonus to put out the best raid dps possible. Of course I would be happy to respec or re-gear if it was required of me, but I feel that what I have at the moment is a very strong pve build. The one thing I am changing is my tier five gloves, they will be swapped out for the 2.4 badgevendor gloves when i can afford them as they are quite a lot better.

List your primary and secondary professions, pls mention any notable epic or rare recipes:
Tailoring - nothing special here I'm afraid, other than I am a spellfire tailor and the kara arcane resist gear.
Engineering - both repair bot patterns, Mana and Health potion injectors, and i'm a gnomish engineer.

Which Attunements and Heroic Keys do you have?
attuned to kara, ssc, tempest keep as well as naxx, onyxia and molten core (if they were needed for anything!)
I've got all heroic keys.

Do you own a Medallion of Karabor?
I don't as I've never been into MH. I am currently on the 'An Artifact From the Past' part of the quest chain - defeat Rage Winterchill.

What kind of raid experience do you have? (include any references to Pre and Post BC):
Prebc- onyxia, MC, zg, aq20+40
postbc- kara, za and ssc all fully cleared as well as everything except Kael dead in tempest keep. I have no experience in anything beyond tier five but this is partly why I would love to join Last Legion.

How do you prepare for a raid?
for my toon: buff food, elixirs/flasks, weapon oils, reagents, plenty of mana pots and a full repair. I'll usually bring a few repairbots along too.
for myself: A good meal, plenty of tea or beer and a fine selection of nibbles. Can't let myself go hungry now can I!

What do you dislike most about World of Warcraft?:
People that take the game too seriously. It is a game after all, right? Also I dislike text speak.

What days are you available to raid (list all)?:
I can raid pretty much every day as long as I have enough prior warning.
I do eat at 8:00 servertime most days, but I can make sure I am online ready to go at 8:20, parked outside the instance for the raid start.

Do you know about in Last Legion who could sponsor you?
Devotchka/Alluna - I've known him for a long time and we met outside of the game. I would like to think he could vouch for me but I guess we'll see eh :D

Do you have any additional info you wish to share? (this is your opportunity to provide us with extra information to set you apart from other applications and cover an issue not mentioned above):
I applied to LL a while back when I left Ice. Sadly there were no spaces for mages at the time, and I am aware you are not actively recruiting mages at present but I hope I can be seen as an 'exceptional applicant'. My gear has significantly improved since my last application, and I like to think I have learned a lot from my tier five experience that could transfer into tier six and beyond. I have heard a lot of good things about Last Legion from Devo, and it sounds like a great place to be and you all sound like a great bunch of people.

I'll be happy to answer any questions you have as best I can.

I will certainly sponsor this app. I've known him for a very long time; great guy, knows his class, does some very impressive damage, pays attention and ultimately will show up reliably for raids without fail. Can't really give him a much stronger recommendation.

I'm also willing to vouch that while he is a tiny bit short of 21, maturity will not be an issue.

How long did you go wihtout a boss kill when you decided to leave those guilds?

You Can If You Think You Can!

If you think you are beaten, you are,
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you like to win, but you think you can't,
It is almost certain you won't.
If you think you'll lose, you're lost,
For out in the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow's will.
It's all in the state of mind.
If you think you are outclassed, you are,
You've got to think high to rise,
You've got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.
Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man.
But sooner or latet the man who wins,
Is the man who thinks he can.

I remember this guy applying months ago and doing a few heriocs really good etc. IIRC he joined MS as we were full of mages at the time of his last app.

Ice began to start moving backward with progression when MS decided they didn't need to do join raids any more, so I went from killing gruul+maggy to wiping on nightbane.
In Midnight Storm, we didn't kill anything new in about 2 months (A'ar was the last "progress" kill on June 22nd). However, it didn't really feel like there was any potential for progression on Kael as so many key players had left.

Mysitk, that is correct.

Your specc looks correct for me 40/21 and i suppose you are spamming AB on thrash and using Frostbolts on bosses?( how much is your dps on bosses, single target nukage?)
Also this specc is a bit complicated because when you use Arcane Blast you need only 64 hit and on bosses(using frostbolts) you have to be hit capped .

Application looks great , and really he has improved his gear since last time.

I'm spamming AB at any possible opportunity, then potting/gemming/evocating/frostbolting my way back up until I can spam AB again. With a shadow priest in the group this seems to work out very nicely indeed and i've been putting out around 1500-1600dps on bosses.

Going all out with chain IV and heroism on the first phase of al'ar I can just nick 2100dps but obviously this is a seriously rare occasion.

I should also add that i've always had the luxury of a space goat in my group so that gives me an extra 12 hit.

Sounds cool, but on 10 min+ fights i believe you will have mana problems as we don`t use a shadow priest in casters group.
